The world surely needs our compassionate leadership. But if we are stuck in paralyzing guilt, fear or despair, how can we possibly step forward powerfully? Let’s learn from the rich story of the ancient Sumerian Goddess Inanna, the Queen of Heaven who embodies the beauty and majesty of sensuality in the upper world of light, and her underworld sister Ereshkigal who embodies the harsh and unrelenting ways of death in the world of shadow. When Inanna chooses to visit the Queen Below, Ereshkigal gives her death and has her hung on a hook in the underworld. Their story of power struggle, liberation and forgiveness requires trust, a bit of grace, and whole lot of compassion.  How might we see these two Goddesses within ourselves? What is possible when we learn to let ourselves off the hook? How much more healing can we bring to the world when we are free?

Join presenters from all over the world who have committed to sharing their perspectives on a global Goddess community for this magical, heart-opening and transformational celebration in a magical natural setting. Rev. Judith will be offering two workshops:

Persephone’s Descent: A Journey to Womanhood. As the season blazes in Autumn color, Persephone, daughter of the Great Grain Goddess Demeter, descends to the underworld. Pulling back the layers of patriarchal myth that tells us Hades abducted Her against Her will, we find something else, something deeper and more spiritually profound; a non-violent tale in which Persephone chooses a sovereign journey propelled by Her own desire. In the world below, Persephone is initiated into the deeper mysteries of love, death and rebirth so that She may emerge in season having gained experience and insight in living this metaphoric love story between darkness and light.

Athena: A Goddess for Our Time. Athena, known as the Goddess of Wisdom, is often maligned because her myth relays that She was born from Her father’s head rather than Her mother’s womb. Peeling back the patriarchal layers of this tale, we notice some discrepancies which clue us in to how Athena, like most strong women, is often considered a traitor to her sex. Athena as fair, tough, wise and protective is alive in every woman. Exploring Athena’s origins, we’ll investigate the nature of androgyny, and discover how Athena models courage, intuition, authority and strength; the principals of feminine leadership sorely needed in present times.

In addition to offering psychic Tarot readings on site, Rev. Judith will be offering a Mabon Ritual for the Autumn Equinox and two workshops:

The Art of Ritual: Rituals mark importance in our lives. The art of ritual elevates a routine action, like making a simple infusion, into a devotional act within a spiritual context. In this experiential workshop, you will learn the art of creating sacred space, how and why to raise and direct energy, the power of blessing, and feel the satisfaction Wise Women know in engaging their lives magickally.

All Things Rosemary: Rosmarinus officinalis, with her vibrant scent and strong presence, awakens, enlivens and delights us. In our time together, we will engage all our senses as we relate to Rosemary.  Beyond how she smells and tastes, Rosemary inspires our magickal strength and resilience.  We will journey to meet her spirit between the worlds, slather rosemary salve on our skin, and leave crowned by Rosemary as the Queens we are!

Return of the Divine Feminine Webinar Summit

return of the divive feminine

Nov. 19, 2016 1:30- 3 p.m.

Women’s Spiritual Empowerment!  We call Her the ‘Divine’ Feminine for a reason. When the Goddess disappeared from our spiritual understanding and worship, women lost their place as divine beings and consequently their personal power.  The return of the Divine Feminine is transforming our social and political landscape because it is changing our spiritual landscape and how women perceive themselves. The Goddess empowers and inspires women and men to embrace spirituality in a completely different way from patriarchal religions, and thereby bring the crucial and necessary balance needed in our world. Esbat Celebration at Cunning Crow Apothecary

9024 Greenwood Ave N Seattle, WA 98103 $10-30 donation appreciated. Best to register early, space is limited.

A Pregnant Pause! The Full Moon closest to the Winter Solstice is particularly powerful. As the year draws to a close the Goddess is heavily pregnant. She carries the life force of the Sun King within the magnificence of Her cosmic body, due in just one week. At this auspicious time, take a moment away from the business of the season, and gather in a circle of safe and sacred space to honor expectancy. We’ll determine what we wish to bring to bear in the coming year. Utilizing the power of the pregnant Moon, we will focus our magick to propel our potential for the future.

Autumn's Descent: A September Journey for Women

persephone

Perhaps my favorite story is the ancient Eleusinian myth of Persephone’s descent into the underworld and her mother Demeter’s actions that ensure she returns. With a cast of characters like Hecate, Hades, and Baubo, the story serves as a template for the cyclical nature of life and our spiritual growth.

The threads that weave this complex tale include the stuff of all great stories: longing, love, and loss, magick, movement, and mystery. Each year as summer gives way to autumn I revisit this rich narrative and continually unearth additional treasures for soul nourishment.

This year, I am offering a six session class for women to explore and ritualize this myth in the beauty and safety of sacred space. We will learn the myth as it’s been told, pull back a few layers to find what lies beneath,

discover how the characters live within ourselves, and prepare our souls for the dark half of the Wheel of the Year.

Fridays Sept. 9, 16, and 30 from 7-9:30 p.m.
